Peter’s to keep Cardiff Half volunteers well fed
Volunteers at the Lloyds Bank Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday October 5th will enjoy pastries on Peter’s following a donation from Wales’s favourite pie maker.
Peter’s will supply over 500 pasties and sausage rolls to keep volunteers well fed, along with flapjacks from Blackfriars Bakery as a tasty dessert.
Peter’s Marketing Manager Claire Conway said: “Peter’s is delighted to support this year’s Lloyds Bank Cardiff Half Marathon with pastries for the volunteers.
“It is an amazing event that creates special memories for both the runners and volunteers alike.
“Without the volunteers, the day simply wouldn’t be possible, and by keeping the team well fed we hope to help them stay as energised as the runners!”
The 2014 event is the largest Cardiff Half Marathon ever, with over 20,000 entrants.
Volunteers will help ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants and spectators at the race, fulfilling a variety of roles on the day.
Gareth Ludkin, Run 4 Wales Events and Communications Coordinator said: “We couldn’t organise the Lloyds Bank Cardiff Half Marathon without the valued time, commitment and hard work of the hundreds of race day volunteers.
“We are extremely proud to have the support of Peter’s, an iconic brand here in Wales.”
