Double Celebration for Wales’s Most Desirable David!
Brian David from Neath has even more reason than the rest of the nation to be celebrating the our patron Saint’s day – not only is it his birthday, but he has also just topped a poll organised by Wales’ favourite pie-maker to take the title of Wales’ ‘Most Desirable David’.
In celebration of St David’s Day, Peter’s Pies invited members of the public to nominate the most desirable David in their lives – desirable not only because of the way they look but because of the things they do that make them stand out and make a difference.
While Brian from Pencaerau is a David by surname, if his grandfather had had his way, he would have been christened ‘David David’ from the start.
Brian’s wife Karen, who nominated her husband of 30 years for the accolade said: “When Brian was born on St David’s Day, his grandfather really wanted him to be christened David David but his mum was having none of it!
“He’s such a patriotic Welshman that he couldn’t have been born on a more perfect day and when I spotted the Peter’s competition, I knew I had to put him forward. He’s a fantastic family man and a wonderful dad to our son Steven and grandfather to Steven and our daughter-in-law Amy’s boys, William, 5 and Joseph who is ten months. He’s always doing something to help somebody and I’m absolutely delighted that he’s been recognised with this award!”
Fittingly, the prize for being hailed Wales’ most desirable David is an overnight stay at Cardiff’s luxury St David’s Hotel & Spa – and a basket full of Peter’s pies!
Modest Brian, who turns 51 on March 1st said: “I didn’t know that Karen had entered me so when I was named as a finalist it was news to me.Karen’s always looking at fun things for us to get involved with, and I’m sure we’ll have a laugh when we check in as Mr and Mrs David at St David’s Hotel to celebrate St David’s Day! It doesn’t get much more Welsh than that.” Peter’s Marketing Director Clare Morgan said: “The public has spoken and we’re so pleased to crown Brian David as ‘Wales’ Most Desirable David’. Mr David received over 60% of the votes so was a very popular choice – we wish both Brian and Karen a lovely time on their luxury break.”
